Quality/Value Manager (Stump to Customer)

The Philadelphia operation is a large, random length sawmill primarily producing lumber up to 20 feet in length with some specialty related capacity. Our facility is a high-tech manufacturing operation with recent capital upgrades, resulting in top performance. Key Functions:
As the Gate to Gate Quality/Value Manager, you will:
Focus on improving quality, process reliability and optimization throughout the entire mill by maintaining a safe awareness at all times
Act as a liaison between the customer and the plant
Develop and maintaining strong product knowledge base
Interface effectively with other departments and maintaining open lines of communication with stakeholder
Identify customer needs and translate them into specifications for the mill
Have involvement in all aspects of process engineering with a strong emphasis on machine diagnostics and process control
Ensure development and implementation of Optimization systems
Lead productivity & quality improvements based on data analysis using employee teams
Monitor inventory discrepancies on an ongoing basis
Develop special computer reports in support of management needs
Analyze and identify lumber value mix to maximize mill profitability in fulfilling market demand
Be responsible for product procurement and tracking inventory levels to insure product availability
Manage all optimization throughout the mill.
A demonstrated passion for safety and exception leadershipcapacity in improving safety performance
Bachelor's degree with minimum of 2 years quality control/value extraction experience OR High School diploma and equivalent experience(Quality Assurance/wood products/forestry/finance/business)
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Hands-on experience working with applicable process/productoptimizing systems (e.g. USNR/Newnes Optimization programs/auto-gradingsystems)
Demonstrated ability to define problems, establishes facts,draw valid conclusions and solve problems
Working knowledge of business and financial concepts
Effective in process control applications (spreadsheets,databases)
Demonstrated ability to lead and teach others
Demonstrated self-starter with excellent time managementskills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
Ability to perform well with minimum supervision ordirection
Strong teaming skills and ability to work effectively withindividuals at all levels within the organization
Demonstrated ability to get work done through others anddevelop a strong team that quickly identifies & corrects quality/valueproblems throughout the facility
Excellent written, oral and listening skills
Effective in facilitating and encouraging change management
Strong independent problem-solving, organization and logicalthinking abilities
Willingness to work extended hours, off-shifts and weekendswhen conditions warrant.
The following qualifications are preferred:
Strong background in leading Lean, Six Sigma, 5-S, or othercontinuous improvement initiatives
Knowledge of manufacturing processes used in lumberoperations
Knowledge and ability to utilize programmable logic controllers(e.g. Allen Bradley)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
